I have a 1968 GTX convertible. When the top is up there’s a bad rattle noise in the top/ trunk area when the top is down it goes away. I can’t find anything loose. Any ideas on what to look for?
Thanks

Maybe check the pistons for the top mechanism along with the frame and make sure bolts and bushings are good...

Have someone drive it while you ride in the trunk as long as your not afraid to.

Well that solves it then! I’ll admit I’ve ridden in the trunk of a few and I don’t care to but if it gets it fixed I’ll do it.

You know how that goes so try the dog and let’s see who is happy to see you!

Nice to hear you solved the problem. Odd that being shock bolts, the top down or up shouldn’t have mattered? Maybe the top folded in the well blocked the noise.
I’ve had a similar problem and still unable to nail it down.

I think that the person that restored it just didn’t get them tight enough
