Cooper Cobra Tires??

Cooper Cobra tires any good? How do they compare to BFG T/As?
Specifically 275/60-15, and 215/70-15.

I like the Coopers better.
There a fine drivers tire.
A little more grip, a little less slip, but there just simply a street driving tire.

If anybody Actually likes T/A tires you will love Cooper cobras. They are great tires I have 2 seats and will buy more. Ride nice, quiet, and they don’t blow apart without warning, You can drive on wet roads and have traction, much better.

Cooper tires are great tires. I'd put them on anything I run. BFG are too expensive for a look.

I’ve got Cooper Cobras on my Belvedere. They’re a great tire. The new BFG’s are garbage. I believe they’re made by Coker now.

I have had 4 BFG's blow apart sitting still, but never a Cooper.

Expand and look at rear tire. Both rears blew within 2 days of each other. Age related maybe, but less than 500 miles.

I put Cobras on my Satellite. It rides nice and smooth on them.

I had two cooper Cobras that blew up but never a BFG.
But I had way less BFG than Cooper in the past to be honest and set it straight.
At least overhere the Coopers are way cheaper than the BFG so I would probably buy them again if I have to choose between the two

Copper has really stepped up their game over the last few years. Great range of tires now.

I went from BFG to Cooper. The Coopers are taller but narrower in 15 inch. The Coopers needed a lot of weights to balance.

Why do you say that Carsten? Do they ride and last as well as newer/modern tires? Or are they significantly updated?

no, they do nothing like that. technically they are worse. They only have more grip when they bite at the greenlight compared to regular radials.
They are just the best tires for me because they just look great on 1970&up Mopars (as well as 69 RRs&SBs with certain packages).

Having the best look is important to me as I love my Mopars but I do not drive them because they are the best driving cars on the planet......just the best looking

Hmmm...Age related maybe ? Bet they were much older than 8 years old. Mileage means nothing. The rubber compound on any tire has a limited life based on time.. Tires are manufactured to last an average of 60K miles now a days. National average for normal driving is 10-15 k per year. 4-6 years typically.
Guys.. please check your DOT numbers. If your tires are older than 5-6 years old try to avoid hi-way speeds. The heat and centrifugal forces at higher speeds will help the tread to detach from the carcass causing fender/body damage at the least. Yes, guys will now post how their tires have been just fine that are this or that many years old but think about it for your self..
But It is a fact that millions of older tires of any brand have not done well at old ages. How long would you trust your belts, hoses, wiper blades ? Rubber hardens with TIME.
Non reproduction BFG T/A tires have been made by Michelin since the eighties. Heard of that company ? After bfg and Uniroyal were purchased by Michelin, the T/A tire was no longer manufactured the same way. Only the tire molds were the same. The actual green tire was a Uniroyal steel belted . The "authentic" BFG made T/A was an all Rayon tire, no steel belts. Very few tread separations because of that. Sadly those tires have not been made for over 40 years...

Well I completely understand that then. I dig the period correct looking tires too, also Firestones rel, red lines, dual, and triple stripes etc.

I’ve got 30 year old tires on my two sitting in garage holding air. No miles for past 15 plus but no explosions either lol.

Maybe changed compounds for built in obsolescence

The Cooper's raised white letters stay white too I think, as opposed to the BFG's that turn brown...
