What are the right dimensions for a correct max wedge scoop? I have one but I have no idea who made it, it came with the car. If it's close, I'll use it. Thanks

24 wide by 26 long sound right? What do the AAR units measure?

I will get you pictures and dimensions off the real deal, original aluminum scoop off a 63 Max Wedge car this afternoon.

Hope this will help.

Jeff

I love the Max Wedge scoops on the 63 and 64 Mopars. I also like the original size best as I am not as crazy about how the new taller ones look. Ron

Was doing some research on the max wedge hood scoops and came across an old thread.

The pictures in post 4 are not working. Do you still have the pictures and is there a way you could either repost them or send them to me?

It is my intention to try and fabricate one but there are so many variations I would like to use an original as the foundation instead of all the aftermarket reproductions.

Thanks in advance!
Greg

hmmmm! Never seen a max wedge scoop with a brace down the middle, and all my original scoops on my aluminum front ends are only 2.25" -2.5" high in the front, and my scoops are bolted to the original holes that mopar put in their aluminum hoods. On all three of my original scoops, they all have an aluminum washer welded on the underside of the center opening for the stud.

Ive been staring at these cheap looking fiberglass repop hood scoops for a long time, and yes I own one and have it on my car, but it seems to me that it wouldn't be that hard to build a buck or a polymer mold of some sort, or a solid aluminum mold for that matter, and reproduce a decent metal scoop

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone have an accurate dimension where the scoop is mounted, in relation to the rear edge of the hood ? Getting ready to put mine on my '63 330. Thanks

From everything I’ve researched it’s about 1/4” to 1/2” from the back of the hood. That’s what I did and it turned out looking pretty sweet.
