Craigslist ads and morons who just don't get it.

That's the way I feel too. If you're too stoooopid to read the ad, then you're going to end up getting a lesson that you won't forget.....I hope. The very first engine I bought from an ad in the local paper in 1969 was advertised as a 383. It turned out to be a 361. Back then 100 bucks wasn't chump change and I learned how to ID Chrysler engines after that and never made that mistake again! And no, he wouldn't take it back. I was just a dumb 18 year old to him....or maybe he didn't know. Heck, I sold a 273 one time thinking for sure it was a 318. Never even crossed my mind to check it before advertising it. The guy that bought it called and told me but he said he was fine with it being a 273 and figured that's what it probably was being that it came out of a 67 Dart. That was around 73-74 and now I make sure what they are....
My buddy 2 doors down bought a 383 advertised as rebuilt. He brings it home and I walk over to look at it. Keep in mind they did the exchange in a walmart parking lot. Anyhow this thing is still attached the the engine stand. After I looked at it for a minute I said. This thing is rebuilt? He said yea. I was like, I guess they left the pan gasket off so you could check it.. He was like they did what? I thought to myself Here we go.. I then started looking at it more careful. I said were you aware this also has no head gaskets? lol Nope he never looked at it I guess. I decide to help him check it over. I pull off the oil pan and guess what.. Its the worlds first 5 cylinder 383 big block on the planet.. It was missing the rods and pistons on 3 cylinders. I asked how much he paid for it.. He said 700.00 I said do you still have the guys number? He said yes and called him. No answer
