My 6 bolt crankshaft pulley from my 70 383 will not bolt on my mopar 400. It doesn't matter which way I turn it only 5 of the 6 bolts will start, 6th hole misses by half the hole. The 400 is a 74 but I don't know what it's out of and I was also wondering maybe if balancer is for a truck and if that matters? Any and all help is appreciated.

The 70 383 has a steel crank/balancer and the pulley holes are non-symmetrical. The 74 400 has a cast crank/balancer and the pulley holes are symetrical. If you want to use the 70 pulley you can just slot the one hole to make it symetrical for use on the 74
Yesterday I was installing my crankshaft pulley on my 67 Hemi and the sixth bolt head broke off. There is a threaded portion sticking out. I removed the other 5 pulley bolts and tried to reemoive with a vice-grip but it did not turn. I thought it be best to remove the balancer and then try to extract the bolt on the bench. Any thoughts on this process?

I went ahead a bought the extractor set, drilled through the bolt and put the extractor in. Could not get it to move. The set only had 5 extractor sets, I may try to drill out a little larger and maybe it will come out.
Can you get the ez out to go in a 1/4" impact?
I didn't try the impact, I was afraid to break off the extractor bit. My extractor bit is tapered and I may need as dufferent size extractor bit to go deeper. When I went back in to drill deeper it went through the bolt and popped out the backside. So If I can buy another extractor of a better size to fit, it may go deeper into the bit and turn it out. The other choice is to try a larger drill bit, remove a little more of the bolt and try again with a larger extractor. Cat and Mouse approach. I was thinking of removing the harmonic balancer to take it to a machine shop that may have better luck with a drill press. I will post my progress, thank you.
My extractor set has the left handed drill bits with matching extractor. I may need a different size extractor to go into the hole deeper and catch more of the bolt to get it to turn. I will need to buy another size extractor and give it a try. Thank you.
I did that and drilled through the bolt and my drill bit popped out the backside.
TODAY I EXTRACTED THE REST OF THE BROKEN BOLT. I BOUGHT A SET OF WILLIAMS SQUARE EXTRACTORS AND ON THE FIRST TRY IT CAME RIGHT OUT, SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS. I THEN PASSED A 5/16-18 DIE INSIDE THE THREADED OPENING, JUST TO MAKE SURE MY NEW BOLT WOULD WORK. THE BOLT WENT IN WITH NO PROBLEM AND I WAS ABLE TO TORQUE ALL OF THE BOLTS INTO PLACE. I'M GLAD i HAD THE PATIENCE TO SEE THIS THROUGH. THANKS TO ALL THAT CONTRIBUTED TO MY POST.
