So a crappy day just got worse... wasn't a good day to start with and I just opened a letter from the police dept. Seems they have received "at least one complaint that my dog is unregistered and being treated inhumanely" "such treatment may include, but not limited to; prolonged chaining or tethering; extended outdoor confinment, lack of access to food water or shelter; exposure to hazardous conditions" Ok, yes her registration has lapsed but anyone who knows us knows we spoil the crap out of her. She's a Husky and loves to be outside no matter what the weather is. She had a dog house, wanted nothing to do with it. No exageration I let her in and out 15 times a day. I put her out and feel bad she's sitting out there so I get her to come in, sometimes within minutes she's howling and pawing my arm and going to the door. She sleeps on my bed and gets more of it than I do. I wish people would mind their own f'in business. Now I have to go to the PD and try to explain my side of things. Does this look like an abused dog that wants to be in the house?

Bring those pictures with you. You shouldn't have a hard time with the cops. Make it a point to find out the "concerned neighbor" too.

Doesn't look abused to me. Maybe camera happy.

Looks like a healthy, well fed, happy dog to me..... Some people just don't understand that many (once upon a time all) dogs are bred for being outside most, if not all time.
As far as being on a chain- it looks like you have plenty of lead, and I'm sure it's against the law to let your dog roam free. If your neighbor is so concerned, maybe they will put up a fence for you!

I bet they own a chuyawa and dress it up in ridiculous clothes and what not. Some people just need to keep to themselves in today's world. Nice lookin pup you've got there sublime! Hope all goes well!

people are a pain in the AZZ!!! thats why I love my dog!

LOL.. No depression problem there. Some people dont know dogs

At least he's not running around loose, crapping in everyones yard like most of the dogs in my neighborhood.

Don't you just love people that if they were honest enough to say they are so lazy and bored they look for something to complain about! That husky is an outside dog if she were chained out all the time, she sure doesn't look like she's been abused any at all, she's a beautiful animal! I would at least send and get the registration, or pick them up before going to the police, just tell them things have been busy and you simply forgot and the neighbor is more of a pest then a dog. Must be someone whos been over, how else would they know the registration ran out! I imagine this is only a warning or you would have had a visit with a "bad boy" fee to pay.. I never could stand busybodies.. You probably made them jealous with that sublimegtx is all.

Sorry to hear it. Dog looks plenty happy to me. Husky's are right at home in the white stuff. Lot more comfortable for them than an 80F degree day. Best of luck.

I appreciate how you feel. My brother had the same issue a few years ago. Some neighbour complained about his dog. There was absolutely no basis for the complaint, but some people just need to be asses.

I grew up with a Norwegian Elk-hound and we lived in a pretty warm climate. If anyone should have had the cops called on someone they probably should have been called on us. Good thing my mom kept the house like a meat locker (A/C on all summer) and Rex loved it. When I was a kid in the 70's we went to the ice caves way up in nor cal and that was the first time I saw Rex in his element. Man was that dog happy like a pig in **** - or a snow dog on ice. It's a shame that what is perceived to be correct by some can turn into big trouble for others. A little time to think and observe may have gone a long way here.

That Dog Is Loving Being Outside! You Can See It Her Her Eyes! She's Looking For Someone To Play With Her! I Had A Golden Who Was A House Dog...But She Always Wanted Out! No Matter What!

Can't stand busybodies.no one knows your dog ,like you do .
He's a beaut .
It will be ok just a waste of time ,having to explaining yourself to anyone!

Beautiful dog and looks very well cared for. I've had huskies and know where you're coming from and am sorry about where you're going to. Best of luck at the P.D..

Beautiful dog you have. I used to work with a guy that had an old golden retriever that was an outside dog. When it would snow, the dog would sleep out on the lawn and in the morning you would see a mound in the snow where he was laying. Lol, he just loved it, he had a perfectly good dog house but loved the snow.

Some Liberal Whacko who believes it's his or hers authority to oversee everyone elses business in the neighborhood.
It's the: "Needs of the one outweighs the needs of the many" postulate.

It's terrible what soome people will do to get their way!
They will "demonize" and "demoralize" an individuals charachter to get what they want.
