Cruisin Hines. Better than Woodward

Got there a bit late last year and waited in line to get in for almost an hour (cars where overheating and dropping like flies) I got tired of waiting and took off.
I hope they figure out how to keep it moving this year.

I cruise Hines every Sunday morning in the GTX, grew up in that park, it's only a few miles from me but I used to live a block away when I was younger.

I grew up down there too. Lots of memories for sure. Get there early. Gates open at 9.

Two thumbs up for Cruisin Hines! It's waaaaay better than Woodward. Check out the official description of allowed cars:

"Classics are any cars that are 25 years or older. 1988 or older. Hot Rods are any cars that have been modified in some way. The car must be detailed and ready for a show. Just buying a brand new GT does not get you in."

Damn straight! If you have never been and are within a tankful of gas of here http://experiencedetroit.com/hinesdrive.htm it's definitely worth the drive!!!!!

Never knew there was an official Hines cruse. I've been crusing Hines for 30 years. Very cool!

Be there or be square.

I guess I'll be square...LOL..., please take some photos, for all us squares, that can't attend when it's 2000 miles away...

Wow, what a day! Word from the organizer is there were over 50,000 cars. Weather was perfect. Saw a few old friends. One special old/new friend but that's another story.
Great cruise.

The Hines cruise couldn't have started out better. I had my girlfriend in front with me, a sunbrella, chairs, and a full cooler in the trunk, and we were behind a beautiful Sublime Charger heading in to the park. It got better from there. We had a great place to park with friends and family. Right across the road were a pair of Baracudas.

Going by, one after another, was an endless stream of mostly all cool cars (a small number of losers in shiny new camaros, mustangs, vettes, and challengers somehow slipped in. We gave them the thumbs down but they were probably too self-absorbed to even notice) and Mopars were well represented. For the very first time since I've owned my car I actually got to see another '73 Road Runner on the road. Petty Blue with black stripes. And I got a pic.

And then later on a green one came by.

Damn - not a single one in 9 years and then two in the same day!!!!!!!!!

We were parked on the south side of the road just a little west of Merriman and stayed from 10:00 until 3:00. I took couple hundred pics. The great majority of those were Mopars. If you were cruising by in yours I might have got a pic of you! I uploaded about 100 of the better ones to my site in a zip file. 82MB. Have fun.

Hey cool you got a pic of me driving by.

Greetings and thanks for driving by! I was hoping to get some fellow Michigan FBBO members. Unfortunately the camera I using kept going into automatic standby mode and I missed a bunch of Mopars. Next time I'll try a different camera and bring some extra batteries.
