Damn you chip foose

I'd love for him to do either of my Dodge Sweptline trucks! Especially the one I've already lowered three inches F/R. The man has amazing talents. I've seen a couple of his cars up close and personal a while back in Texas, and was able to speak with the owners to see if they were happy with the cars and the overall experience. They were quite happy, from the way they talked about their cars.

Myself I am not a Foose fan at all. But thats because I love the muscle cars the way they were and I am not into customizing muscle cars. He is a very talented man but in my opinion he destroys every car he touches. But thats just because I dont like what he does to them. Some people may love his cars but its just not me. If anyone in my family ever gave him the keys to my 63 I would want to kill the person that gave him my keys ! LoL ! Ron

i'd like to see him take a rare 4 frame rail rotted mopar
and do a nut and bolt oem resto on it.
i think that is way beyond his capabilities..
any hack can do a resto mod!.. :hello2:

The husband & lay whom owned the car, says he watched the show allot,
seems they would know his style somewhat...

I liked it somewhat, it wasn't a #'s matching car either, had a modified engine
& other stuff IIRC...
The not painting it black is a stickler to me thou, BUT
the lady whose grandma's car it was, whose car it is now.
"actually loved it", the husband seemed to like it too, made a few faces
but liked it when he came out, or he was just faking it...

Foose He's a great guy, he's done some great cars too,
several Riddler award winners now... How many guys can make that claim ?
I'm not sure what all the hate for Foose is all about, it's just one car,
they called him & the production company, after seeing the show allegedly many times...

It's different strokes for different folks, not everyone wants the same factory styles or
have to be all OE cars either...

I know I don't usually, depends on the car, I like day 2 cars
{my preferences, BUT I don't force my believes on everyone, I can accept & respect either types too}
As long as it's not a rare Hemi car, but even that,
really depends on my attitude at the time too, condition of the actual car...

I don't think he needs to prove himself at all, he can & has done full on restorations too,
he's been doing this stuff & built 100's of cars {not all Overhaulin cars either},
over a couple decades now...
Far more than most, he's out there doing it at-least...
May not fit everyone's narrow mold of what a car should or could be...

I know I'm not really a big hoops guy, or big extravagant interior
or big boom boom stereo guy either, but the rest of that car was OK...

BUT too each their own, that's my $0.02 cents

"Build it how you want it drive it like you stole it, who cares what others think"

They should have let Stacy David have a go at it or even Edd China from that British show, Wheeler Dealers before letting Chip and crew indulge themselves.

I find it interesting! If you find a really cool classic and a guy has modified it, whether it be a shade tree guy, a moderate or a high end guy.....they dont choose to EFF up a basket case that you can "make it what you want" they ALL seem to do it to a dang NICE ORIGINAL...that will never be again.

Maybe Chip Foose would have gained more respect if he had started out with this beauty from another thread we saw yesterday....

But I guess that would have been in the "Too hard basket-case"

I disagree. A true restored car is something rarely seen, no matter who does the "restoration"...A "resto-mod" involves modifying the vehicle significantly. I've seen plenty of "resto-mods" AND so-called "restorations" that were just plain JUNK. No matter which way one goes on a build, BOTH require talent and and a complete skill set that relatively few people possess.

Foose does what he does, and if somebody takes their car to Foose then that's their business. Foose and his team are really good at what they do. I just don't like a lot of stuff that he does, but I'm not going to get all sideways about it. Obviously a lot of people love his work or he wouldn't be as successful as he is. So if you like Foose, and he does your car for you, great. If I see your Foose car and I don't fawn all over it don't be offended. I'll just keep walking and not say anything. It just personal taste and I've been told I don't have much anyway.
I guess this quote doesn't need any improvement. I would fall in this camp.

Personally, I love what Foose does. I'm a big fan. But I agree that the safety features should be left on the cars, especially if people are going to drive them (as I would). If I remember the car correctly, he left the interior stock and I believe it was two-toned with the black and the purple as the primary colors, so the black wasn't completely taken off. It wasn't a numbers matching rare car either. I appreciate all types of restorations, hot rods, restomod's etc, not really into low riders but there ok. I agree with what Moparsmitty and Budnicks wrote. Basically to each there own.

Here you guys go if some didn't get to see the death of the cuda. He can stay the hell away from my car too (unless it involves a hemi then I'll get over the rest later )
Uh enjoy??? Maybe???

So what about all the resto mods, corner carvers the boys on here are doing. Are they wrong? Some of these cars have nice numbers. So keep the body original and change everything else, No more original car, you've changed it!! Were talking car bodies here right? I say build it the way you want! If Foose ever wanted to do a car for me, am I going to say no thanks? I think not!

Now, if you build an RT or another car original or not, and Foose builds the same car his way, which one will have a greater value. I'm just sayin, a name like Foose on the car, probably will have more value.

I gues to me it's like buying women's clothes for your wife. Any of you ever do that? BIG mistake. Huge. For women clothing is something deeply personal and they want what strikes a personal cord with them. I think cars are the same way with guys.

You put a 69 Roadrunner in front of some guys and they would sell their soul to have it. I would say "nice car" and never think about it again. Put a yellow/black 73 Roadrunner in front of me and I'll really like it, but say "it looks like a taxi cab". Out a red, black, or white one in front of me and I'll want to buy it no matter what.

I know Foose tries to get an idea what an owner wants, but I've seen a lot of shows where he blows off owner preferences to basically make the car he wants. This has always made me wonder how many guys who were overhauled don't overhaul their cars again?

I wonder what happens to all those original parts he removes from all these cars. He must have a huge box somewhere full of mirrors, door handles, filler caps, trim, bumpers and lots of other hard to find stuff.
If your looking for original parts to finish your own car hell I'd give him a call.

Not a fan. These cars don't need "customization." But Foosified can be good or bad, depending on whether you are buying or selling. If you are buying, it ups the value of remaining unmolested cars. If you are selling, it means your car is now more rare, because yours has NOT been Foosified

Haha, screwed up another Cuda? There's a reason he's the go to guy by many and it isn't because he screws things up, that Cuda looks allot better than it ever did and that's what they wanted.

I don't get you guys............. Don't watch it if you don't like it, it's really that simple. I don't like the kind of work Graveyard Cars does so guess what I do...... I don't watch it!

I get tired of seeing cars, and especially Mopars, restored to Day One condition. It's nice to see hotrodded, restified, and resto-modded Mopars, too! Not everyone obsesses over whether they have date-coded air in the repop date-coded bias-ply tires, or whether the paint daubs on the axle are the right shade of red. You can only look at so many cars at a show that look exactly like the others. Hemi car? Yawn. There are sixteen more in the paddock. But a tastefully-executed build that demonstrates the builder/owner's personality and talents? Heck, yeah, I'll go scope that one out every time!

I appreciate a nice restoration. But a neat hotrod that is actually DRIVEN and NOT a trailer queen is always going to get my attention.

I think Barry White does what a lot of you guys would approve by buying junk cars and resto-modding them. I just can't stand all those shows where they have to have the car at a show or auction two days after they pull in the garage and start the tear down.

Not that Barry White.

Wrecks to Riches Barry White.

I must admit I hate the unrealistic completion times too,
hell take a month it'd still make a decent show, instead of the alleged 7-8 days...

I watch most all of them too...

IMO some I like more than others,
seemingly they're just mindless entertainment for the masses,
they have to try to appeal to the non-car people too...
Most that don't build their own stuff, pay someone else to do it...

I prefer to build my own & do, that way, it's the way I want it, bare none...
If you want it done right In my experiences,
IMO you really only get what you want, if you can do it yourself...

One of my favorite Builders is Troy Trepanier/Rad Rides by Troy

My beef is I want more technical aspects but that'd bore the masses too...

To each their own, that's what make the world great we aren't all clones,
that follow the same drummer, that'd be boring as hell IMO...

my $0.04 cents now

My mantra;
"Build them how you want them, drive them like you stole them, who cares what others think"
