Degreeing cam on my 505

It is a 505, not a 440. So I would leave it at 108. If it was a 440, or smaller, 106. Bear in mind that according to Crane cams, the cam has to be adv/ret a minimum of 4* for the butt-meter to feel the difference. Unless changed, all Comp FT shelf grinds have 4* of adv ground into them.
 
That is a mild cam for an engine of that size.

Sorry for the confusion, it's been a couple decades since i last built an engine that wasn't a two stroke.

Definitely what I was thinking, but he already has it in the engine. A lot of us don't have $400 just to get another cam. I've got this one and it is very mild in my 496. Idled at 13-14" vacuum in drive.

Going to this one almost 3 yrs later. Should be good for an off the shelf for street only.

It is the cam that 440 source recommended for my situation.
Can always change it later.
