Trying to work out why my trans shifts early between 1-2 gear. Shifts way early even though it's a new built trans with TF2 shift kit.
I've been told that the HD trans didn't do that. Any guesses guys?

Most likely your kick-down rod from the carb to the trans. needs to be adjusted...........................MO

Yes, I did wonder about that. I just fitted a new Holley Street Avenger and had to re set the kickdown linkage. The actual kickdown works well, but from idle to full throttle starts first to second gear shift happens too early.

I agree with Cornpatch. The kickdown needs to be adjusted. Oh, and I believe all transmissions for the 73/74 cars were the same since the Hemi trannys were long gone by then.

Right guys, I'll go back to the kickdown. Meanwhile, my research found that apparently the 727s fitted for 340 cars like mine have a longer pull in second gear which is certainly the case with my car if I keep my foot in it.
