Door handles - how far to lift

Picky picky picky. If it works why mess with it. You stated yours worked. Its your problem. If they did not work there would have been way more solutions.

On ‘71s and up, there is an adjustment for the relationship between the outside door handle and the latch release lever. Small hole in the door jamb near the latch allows a 5/32" allen wrench to engage the head of a set-screw on the latch lever. Sounds like it’s out of adjustment. I didn’t see any previous posts about it.

LOL and you guys bust my balls for my sarcastic comment, but i'm sure this troll will be left alone.

Jesus did you even once the post that may solve your problem?

I assume you meant to ask "did i even notice" and YES i did. I thanked the poster, and when the car is off the rack and i have time to pull the door panel and try that adjustment i'll report back on how it all worked out.

Love coming here to be attacked, it's great. :)

Just to be clear, it is not necessary to get inside the door to make this adjustment, access to the set-screw is through a hole in the outer jamb as pictured. Loosen the set screw, lever should self-center, tighten back up.

Re-read your posts #8 and #13 and tell me they weren't snarky.

Thanks 72, wasn't sure if that's how it worked or if i needed to push/pull the rod thru the adjuster. Thanks again for your help.

I've read your opinions on California before in other posts. For the most part i don't disagree with you. But, i don't let that ruin the enjoyment in get from living here. I get to drive my classics, and motorcycles year round, live 4 blocks from the ocean, 3 hours from the snow if i want it, and have some of the best driving/riding roads in the nation in my back yard, i don't own a long sleeve shirt, much less a winter coat. Life is good out here.
p.s. our cars don't rust either.

Disregard 69a100. He lived in California but it ruined his life so he scurried off to Nevada to take pot shots at his nemesis. However, he is entertaining...
