Two questions first, how tall do you want the tire, and do you race the car? If you race, you might want to adjust tire height to account for, or change reaction time.
Typical dot legal front skinnies seem to be 165 (80)r-15, about 26" tall, with 145s and 155s available. I have three sets that size, latest bought a set of firestones (don't know where made, suspect not usa). Most in these sizes are either chinese or korean, Korean being preferred.
If you are looking for taller than 26" ,that's where things get tougher. Australians have access to a 185x80-15 that to the best of my knowledge is not available in the U.S. That leaves Mickey Thompson SR 28" radials as about the only choice left, and I believe they are over $200 each.
To visually fill the wheelwell of my 62, I went with a seven inch wheel and a 235/75-15. It's heavy, but it looks better and slows reaction time, helping avoid red lights. I can always put the short tires back on if I need to.
