Saw the movie with my oldest boy this weekend. VERY powerful movie. If you haven't seen it you should as the big screen is no match for this as a rental.

It's incredible what happened and what was accomplished.

I thought the first text on the screen was interesting.

I was caught up in the visuals. I thought the story was a little convoluted at times but it tied together at the end. The sound and soundtrack were AMAZING! It was an incredible use of audio, SFX, and music to set the mood and tempo of the movie. A very well made movie with a compelling story.

The story of Britain during 1940-1941 is not known well enough in the US. We tend to think WWII started in Dec 1941. The British had been in the fight for over two years and were, barely, hanging on. I hope this helps people understand their plight.

Just saw the movie this afternoon. Very well done and from what I have read more true to life than over dramatized.

Not what you expect these days of a War movie but very good and done well. The reason most for a lot of the more negative responses I have read on another thread I think are simply because we just haven't heard much about this time in the war so people don't understand it.

Saw it last weekend thought it was awesome....loved seeing all the WWII machimery....the spitfire, nicely done by Nolan IMO.

I've been a war buff as long as I remember. My dad was in the Army during Vietnam and I used to wear one of his OD shirts to play Army. I used to watch the World At War, Victory At Sea, Ba-Ba-Black Sheep, Hogan's Hero's as well as a lot of the old movies.

When I was in London I went to the Imperial War Museum, which I remember seeing in the credits as a contributor to the World At War series.

The blitz as they call it (as we know it: battle of Britian) was horriffic and Channel 13 did a series called the 1940's house which gave a good idea of what life was like during the war.

Meh. The real story was awesome, but this movie was disjointed in its timeline and only focused on a few of the individuals involved. That may be good for the cinematic effects, but for the portrayal of an important historical event - no. Still worth seeing though.

I've heard it's booring but the flying footage is top drawer.

It is edited differently than most movies as it intertwines individual stories. It is not a linear movie where the story progresses a b c. Yet, I think it works as it ties things up at the end. It is not a documentary. It portrays only a small portion of what happened from the perspective of a few individuals. Much of the events are not well known to Americans so we don't walk into the theater with a historical reference to Dunkirk like we would a movie like Saving Private Ryan. I'm sure a British or French audience would view the movie differently.

From a technical movie making standpoint, I thought the cinematography and audio were fantastic.

Couldn't have said it any better!
