Today was the day to fire up the Charger after a long cold winters nap.

Cleaned up the terminals to get rid of the black/grey build up. I keep the battery cables off all winter.

As soon as l turned it over l got a click and then nothing. Tried it a few more times and nothing so pushed the car out of the garage to have a better look.

When l put my battery charger onto the battery it read 5 amps. Does this mean the battery is dying?

On a side note l tried 1 more time and all of a sudden it fired right up!

To me it sounds like your battery needed a charge. JMO My bee I unhook the battery when not driving it.

Do you use a battery tender at any time during hibernation? I expect it just needed to be charged. I'm my experience over the last few years batteries no longer die slowly. One time they're good and the next time they're dead. When you buy a new battery don't only shop for price but also compare warranties. I had two batteries replaced free last year on warranty. One had a four year warranty and one had a five year.

You should put a battery tender on at least once a month to keep the battery charged. But then again it depends on how old the battery is.

I won't enter the "how to", after being deemed an idiot when it comes to battery maintenance... .. even though I have 14 + that are well aged and crank every time!

Thanks guys!

I haven't used the tender over the winter. I probably should have taken it out and stored it in my cellar out of the cold.

Battery is about 6 years old.

Do you use a battery tender at any time during hibernation?
