I have a stock 440 with stock manifold. Is this carb a good choice? Will it mount with no adapter? How about height? Plumbing changes?

I guess I could research this but find folks with practical experience is better.

thanks in advance.

If memory serves me correctly, this carb has both mounting patterns, square bore and spreadbore

I have two of these 1813 AVS carbs on my big blocks and they work great for me.

67 440 AFBs and all AVSs and 4150-60 type holleys have the "square bore" bolt pattern. The early AFBs and spread bore carbs have the "spread bore" bolt pattern. Most after market carter type carbs have both patterns, but just because the bolt pattern fits does not mean that they will work together properly.
