I have a period Sun Tach in my 1963 Dodge. It is definitely not indicating accurately. How do I go about checking it, and what may be the fix?

check it with a timing light with built in tach. i think u can adjust the gauge on the back of it with it taken apart...i think there's a mini dial...not sure about the model of tach u got though...

Have you added an electronic ignition to this 1963? If so, you need another part (adapter) in order for your old tach to work correctly.

The tach should have settings for different cylinder engines....is it set correctly?

If the tach is really old it may not be adjustable.
