Hey guys, working on my 71 charger. I’m trying to remove my emergency brake cable from the bracket inside the car. I’ve got the bracket unbolted from the firewall but can’t figure out how to get the cable to release. Any help would be appreciated.

Technically it is a “Parking” brake.
Some have barbed edges that snap into the body of the pedal machinist. Others have a small sheet metal clip/wedge that needs to be driven out.

Check out this link. Not sure if 71 is the same but might be. You'll see the little clip/push nut.

Thanks for the response guys. That link definitely helps. It looks like mine might have some type of bolt so that might be what I need to loosen.
