So what brand of oil do you use in you engines? I use the Joe Gibbs DRIVEN HR-2 High Zinc 10W-30 and it seems to be good. What do y'all think? Just some pics of my love to enjoy while we discuss this =P

I'm using 10W30 from Rektol Classic which probably isn't available in the united states.
But it is conventional (non synthetic) 10W30 with high ZDDP/Zinc.

10W-30 VR1 is what I use, no problems at all.

Just changed mine this week

7 qts of Delo brand straight 40wt. with a bottle of ZDDP additive

I was using Rotella straight 30wt but they didnt have any in stock

Great choice.

Using the oil made for the job is the way to go.

Using just "oil" then adding ZDDP isn't all it's cracked up to be. The detergent fights your additive. How do you know they are working together or against each other?

I've wondered about running
additional ZDDP as well.
I've got an AMC 360 with a
mild cam and hydraulic
lifters that has had zero
cam/lifter issues. The
engine is out of a '71
Matador. It's seen regular
2500 mile oil changes using
Castrol 20w-50.
