Haven’t heard from FBO yet. Will call tomorrow as they’ve had the box for a week now.Did you hear anything back.. Believe it or not.. im in this same boat. FBO box, bypassing the resistor and its doing just what you describe. Starts like a champ.. runs, idles and will just cut completely out. Thing i did notice though.. The FBO box has a red light lit when it has power. The last time mine crapped out.. i looked in the bay and the box LED was dark and it would crank but not start. I left it 10 mins or so came back and saw the light back on and it cranked and started right up soo that tells me the entire ignition circuit is losing power. Could it be something worn out getting hot and crapping out and works when cool ? i dunno heh. classic mopars are fun right? right?in fact... let me swap the ecu and re-add the resistor and see if it does the same thing.
My light was red the entire time it had a problem.
I found that if I pushed on the cover of the FBO box, the engine would stop running. Seems to me that maybe when the box gets hot, it expands and creates a short of some sort.
I’ll see what they say….hopefully it’s just a fluke and they send me another box that lasts my lifetime.
I know this has been discussed ad nauseam, but which ignition box are you guys and gals using that is reliable? I don’t mind carrying an extra, but I don’t want to have to carry 5 extras because of lack of dependability…
