Excited but nervous

I just looked at the auction. The seller has ZERO feedback. I would not wire him money or send a money order. If not done in person in cash or thru a third party that will secure the money till the car ships, I would be very careful. No idea if the seller is a scammer. JMHO.

I'm late to the party here, but keep in mind the majority of auto transport companies require the car to run and drive. There is a variety of 'mom and pop' flatbed trucking companies that cost about $2.20 per mile plus some other fees, etc. You can locate these transport companies by call to a local auto auction house as they are small businesses and do not advertise, or even have web pages, etc.

Third party escrow companies are helpful, but they always pile on hidden fees.

PayPal is somewhat protective of the buyer. A friend sold a Mustang a few years back on eBay and incorrectly mentioned an item that was not on the car. PayPal arbitrated and he settled on a $1,000 cash refund to the buyer (on a $10,000 1970 Mustang Grande).

A seller with no feedback who gets a money order or wire transfer is a ghost. Ebay has no leverage on them.

0 feedback worries me too, did no one from Kansas chime
In from your other thread? If it was me I’d have my truck and trailer on my way down there. Cash exchange in person is the only way. Years ago I bought a duster in North Carolina, drove there from Illinois picked up a rental trailer there and drove home with it.

Okay. All good advice guys. Maybe someone local can reach out and be an extra set of eyes. I have spoken to the guy on the phone a few times already for what it's worth.

A flight from Philly to Kansas City is about $800. Shipping I knew I would have to pay. Making it a road trip is a 17 hour drive one way.

Hope it all works out. Here is mine for inspiration.

Any decision as to getting the car home?

Hey sorry for the delay! Hooked up with an appraiser out in the KC area who handled the transaction. He was able to also refer a shipper door to door without hassle. Needs some work but it's a sweet car. One of my favorites.

My congratulations.

Can I ask about the shipping? How much door to door and how was the service? Can you recommend the company?

What are the plans and budgets for this car?
