I have a 69 roadrunner 383/4 speed I recently changed my headers fro dougs 2 inch tubes to hedman elite ceramic 1.75 inch tubes I have 3 inch piping from headers to the tips. I have dynomam 3 inch super turbo mufflers. I have lost my deep throaty sound and have replaced it with a loud popping crackling sound. Any ideas how to get my deep rumble back?

The only change you made was the headers? Other than going back to what you had (2" Doug's) what shape are your mufflers in? I find the Ultra Flo's sound deeper than the Super Turbo

One muffler is in really good shape the other has some holes rusted thru it. Really can't figure out why one would rot out like that and the other one not do the same thing. I don't really want to go back to the dougs because they were hitting on my steering when I turned the wheel and we're going to rub a hole in them. Really would like to get my sound back though.

Thanks I will try that
