Run a propane torch or heat gun in the ports and inside the outlet but not for long - just enough to bake the paint on.
Do that with each coat of paint applied.

I was going to throw them on the bbq for a bit but dont know for temp or for how long? Bake between coats?

Long enough to see a bit of smoke coming off the paint then stop.
Yes, I do the bake thing between coats as well as the base coat otherwise it will just burn off the manifold once you get it running.
