Fan to Radiator distance?

Currently running a flex fan with maybe 2"spacer. Just got the Hayden 2747 clutch with 3618 fan. It looks like it might setup the same but want to make sure before installing.

keep the fan blades tight to the shroud for max air movement.

The fan should be about 1" inside the back edge of the fan shroud for maximum cooling.

Thats one of my problems, no shroud. I'm hunting for a correct radiator for my RR to replace the new one I just put in (turns out to be for a 70 C-body) or find a shroud to fit the radiator I currently have. Just eyeballing it, it looks like the thermal coil on the clutch would be about the same spot as the current fan but the blades, being behind the clutch, will be about an inch or so further from the radiator.
