I bought my first mopar, 67 Charger. Many muscle cars in my past. I’m trying to figure out vin/fender tag, but only see info on 68 up. My old phone can’t make it visible, but I wrote it on a paper. Help please!

There is a specific 66/67 Charger site with decoding info.

66/67 charger source guide.

The link has been posted on FBBO many times.

Is that a 318 car with a sure grip?

Interesting.

Welcome to FBBO

The Vin on the A pillar. Are you sure about that?
Should be XP29F7?xxxxxx
"?" should be alphabetic, not numeric (designates assembly plant).
Oh, and welcome!

Looks like a 67 Charger 318 automatic car. HH1 dark Copper metallic, beautiful color. Bucket seats and console. AM radio. Being you didn't post the letters above the numbers, it makes it a little hard to go any further.

Same color combination that I am building in a 67 Satellite. Welcome from Alabama.

Pretty sure plant code was indeed numeric in 66/67.

2 is either Hamtramck or Lynch Rd, IIRC

Most of my 66/67 cars have been "7"- St Louis.

Thanks. I was just going off my 69, I should have known better. Still learning new stuff every day.

That makes sense. IF.....
1 was Lynch road, and became A, and
2 was Hamtramck, and became B, and
7 was St Louis, and became G, then the letters just took the same place in the alphabet as the numbers had been (clumsily phrased, but I think you get my meaning).

Windsor- R

LA- E?

Hey, so I finally had time to make sure of the numbers. I will post the pic of the tag below. I also found numbers on the engine. Looks like someone has put a 273 in it.

Engine block on driver side 2806030 273-1 pm273R
Engine block under driver side head 24710605
Engine pass side 2-23-68

Any more info would be great! Thx!
