So a guy I know has a 68 rt charger, he might consider selling. I have done several vehicle swaps and other deals with him. But curious to what yall think this basket case is worth. He said he should have every part and piece for it and probably quite a few extras. Trunk pan has been replaced. Passenger side floor board needs repairs. Does run and drive. Believe to be factory 440 drivetrain. Seats are not original. I offered $15k cash and he didn't take it. He said he does have a title. About 11 years ago he would have taken 10k cash and i didnt bite on it. Shame on me. Hasnt moved since then. About 15 years ago it was a complete running and driving car.

If it's solid it is well worth that $15,000 up to 20 I would think.

That intake is a 1971
left exhaust manifold is a mid 70’s piece.
radiator is a C body

15K is way to cheap though.

I’d say with prices the way they are you may be looking at 30-35 k to tickle his fancy. These cars are like land, they don’t make more! While I consider it crazy myself, look at eBay to see and work from there. Every car and owner is different you need the facts on it, your budget and your work capability.. then take those numbers and multiply by 3 .. good luck

WAG based on the floor pans, $30k. That's just ballpark though without seeing whats there and condition of everything. I don't think many 2nd gen Charger buyers care much whether the engine is matching #'s or not.

at least 20 plus, I paid 15 for a 70 318 charger not running. I would say he could get 25 no problem.

Seems to me, a lot of pieces on this car are like that. The owner changed them out to meet his own fancy. I don't know how much is actually original. Or original parts the car has.

And hope he doesn't see this thread lol. I'm also in Texas but I'm not in the hunt for a project car so it would have to be cheap for me to consider it and already have a project that's moving at a snails pace.....

$25k minimum.

A good reason to get a performance model A body instead.

Yeah but what one looks like a Charger!? Plus I'm more comfortable in a B body.....and especially if it's a 4dr. 2dr B's are even better.

It's hard to judge anymore because it seems another guy is always willing to pay silly money. You might have an advantage because you've dealt with him before, and maybe you are the only buyer (for now)..... but I agree $15k is too. Go up to $20k and be prepared to go to $25 or beyond depending on how badly you want it. It going to be awhile yet before the prices on 2nd gens start dropping, so you may be kicking yourself if you pass because it's not a mega-bargain.

$25k today...... $30k next year? I think us old-timers are generally mystified that the prices keep going up, but they continue to do so.

Good luck.

Yeah same here 20-25. 1968 charger is king!

this 69 R/T (stripe delete) fetched 25 a few years ago..... battery area and trunk were gone, hole in driver floor.......orig 53K numbers matching tho

I love chargers. But, not that much. To me, it isn't worth what he wants and it isn't worth what you're gonna have to pay.

When my son and his wife got married the deal was he would pay for the big rock on her finger if she paid for the Hemi when he bought his '69 Charger! He hasn't bought the Charger yet but it looks like he may have gotten the best in the deal!
