What is the correct shape for the grommets that were used to run wires directly thru the firewall in 1973 (might be the same '71-74), such as the clutch switch wire and ammeter wires if using a heavy duty alternator (which were run separately from a branch of the main alternator wire since the contacts in the bulkhead connector were too small to handle the power)? In pictures I've found online I've seen both the funnel shaped ones and the more cone shaped ones used. The funnel shaped ones usually have the smaller end pointing towards the engine bay. My service manual shows the funnel style oriented this way, but I never know if those pictures are just meant to be generic or whether they are what the parts actually look like. The ammeter wires grommet might be the same one as the one for the heater control cable and vacuum line located on the far left side of the engine bay because it's funnel shaped and has two openings about 1/4" in diameter, just right for 10 gage wires.

Next question: does anyone sell reproductions of these or something similar? I've checked the usual Mopar places and they just sell repops of a few of the grommets, but not specifically for this. Also Steele Rubber Products doesn't have much of anything for Mopars, or anything universal that's shaped right. I'm afraid I'm going to have to try to locate used ones, use something similar that's made for an old Chevy (since they always have more reproduction parts available for them than Mopars), or try to make my own (good luck with that).

I would greatly appreciate any help. I'm trying to keep this car as original looking as possible, even though I switched to a four-speed and heavy duty alternator, so I don't want to start doing things like drilling holes thru the bulkhead connector or something like that to run wires thru.

That set doesn't include any wiring grommets. I did end up using the license plate grommet they sell for the clutch safety switch wire, though, because they says it's the same. That and the trunk floor gas tank sending unit grommet are about the only wiring grommets I've been able to find specifically for the '73 cars. Looks like I'll have to try to find a used heater control cable/vacuum hose grommet for the ammeter wires. I'm surprised no one makes one of these given how most people I would venture to guess are running more powerful alternators these days and can't use the bulkhead connector for these wires (unless they drill it out and run the wires straight thru). I doubt you could even buy a 42 amp (or whatever the original size was) alternator to be able to use the stock wiring safely.
