Ah...that's right, I forgot the 71 color was darker. Interior pic I posted does show correct door panels for OP's car.
Here's the 71 factory color and trim selector page for vinyl tops.

Well I went to the Machine shop taking care of my numbers matching 383 Block, and all is good with the block apparently the old 383 lost a bearing so that is why the bird had a 440 in it when I bought it. But it was nothing a line bore couldn't fix and it is ready for my rotating assembly.... Now I just wait for 440 Source, I ordered a 438 stroker kit, stealth heads, roller rockers, and a extreme energy high lift cam from comp cams 1227. and new 3 bolt timing chain and all arp hdwre. My hope is to build this engine to about 500 plus HP then Paint it intake and all like it was all original..... so minus the headers it will look stock....ish... you'll have to strain to know its a little better. at least until you ride in it. Im trying to get my cake and eat it too. Only the most **** purist will know that this thing is actually a hotrod and not a full NOS restoration.

I like that idea. I was once one of those guys that was stuck in the show field wanting it to be factory or nothing at all. I now want a car to drive, enjoy and drive the snott out of it.

You will have one awesome ride when done. I can't wait to see the build.

Xs 2 Mine is going to be a driver.

Thanks Guys! I enjoy the car show scene but I believe this car should perform as good as it looks and if I can some how find a balance between the two of them I'm gonna.

My plan is to match the build sheet to a T except for the engine, exhaust, trans, drivetrain, wheels. I want to do a gear vendor overdrive, disc brake conversion, all new suspension poly parts and T bars. I'm gonna do 17" Mag 500's. I guess it is going to be a resto mod type build but more of a wolf in sheeps clothing.

I think you are doing what most would call "Day 2" restoration. It would be something that back in the day someone changed it right after buying it to have some mag wheels on, headers, frame conectors and stuff like that. All kinds of speed parts.

We all love the restored cars and tend to think (most of the time) they all were kept stock all their lives. That just isnt the case and I love day 2 cars.

Keep us posted and enjoy the heck out if not running and running. I miss having a project and I miss having a driver.

The gear vendor od takes a lot of space and for what they charge you can get a late trans. You would be better with a 6 speed or a OD automatic. Check with Dave or look up Firm Feel Inc. He builds great parts and knows how to make our cars handle based on factory parts.

I might need to look him for a project idea I have rebel. T bucket with Mopar motor and 727 auto Loker doesnt show anything that I can find for a shifter.
