Hey all,
During the mock-up of the steering
shaft, I had to cut out some floorboard
and firewall sheetmetal. This is on a
1940 Plymouth pickup with a 440
stuffed in where a flat head six used to
reside. The engine is set back into the
firewall 2.50 inches. Where the firewall
and floorboard join, just so happens
that's where the steering shaft is.
Any ideas or recommendations as to
how I can seal this up? 20211027_165036.jpg20211027_164957.jpg20211018_174402.jpg20210321_144906.jpg

With the flex joint right there, I would say used a shifter boot as well with a steel flange that you can bend to the shape of the floor.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I have an old shifter boot. I'll
place it in there and see how
I may be able to trim it to fit.
