I just got my motor pulled and there are what look like micro cracking in the metal. 126000 miles om the flywheel. Please see photo. Can this flywheel be salvaged or will i need a new one?

I've taken my flywheels to an automotive machine shop and had them surface ground. Normally the heat checking isn't too deep.

Just run of the mill heat cracks. A machine shop should be able to face it and make it good again. HOWEVER, it is possible the cracks go to deep and it can't be saved.

but after 1,260,000 miles, I think it looks pretty good :rolling:

Just make sure your new clutch disk has plenty of "meat" on it. They dont give you much for your money these days. Got a new one once and it wasnt any "thicker" than the one I took out. With about 10-20 tho. taken off the flywheel I had hardly any clutch adjustment left. Took it back and went for another brand. (Dont remember what brand)

Mine looked just like yours pictured, when I took it to the machine shop.....it came out just fine.
