Found a 71 GTX setting in the woods.

Easier to read :)

I am a sucker for old cars and motorcycles sitting in the woods. I always feel like it is better to drag them home rather than let them sink into the earth. My wife has different opinions, and now that we have a house with a small yard and an HOA, she has won (for now :) )

IMO HOA's are only good for your rental property.

Creates an ally to help your tenants keep it respectable.

For your own property where you reside- I ain't got no use for that BS.

The county codes are bad enough.

But at least they let you pick what color to paint your front door!

Helping a friend get a house on the market. Front door was scratched up from years of use, so I was going to paint it with some paint I had at my house. Nope, uh-uh, can't change the color unless the HOA approves it (which is a process, including committee formation, inspections, etc). Bag that, I bought a quart of similar color (maroon) and just painted it one evening without asking anyone. Shutters are faded, but with all that HOA BS? Bag it. New owners can deal with it.

Run the vin thru state law enforcement. Had a
friend loose thousands invested in a salvage
yard project bought on a bill of sale. Dartforforty
offers wise words of advice.

As soon as I get the car home I will have county law enforcement come out and do a vin check. If nothing comes back I can than have the car registered in my name. I wouldn't spend any money on a car until it is registered in my name.

That is a very interestingly optioned car.

Cool find,it would be sweet to see the car get saved. My friend just bought a 71 GTX on Tuesday. It's a V code 440 Six barrel, 4 speed, Dana 60,and air grabber hood! Hopefully this will inspire your build!

After 35 years she is out of the woods. I noticed it has torque boxes and the frame rail looks good.

That shell looks a lot better than a lot of "projects" listed for sale.

Man that's rough. I hope that you didn't pay much for it, cause it's going to take a mortgage to restore it properly.

Not that big of a deal to install a trunk pan. A track pack 71 GTX is worth it. Every ss Chevelle and old mustang has had a trunk pan installed. It’s not all about the money.

That's gonna need a little more than a floor pan, but I like your positive attitude.
