I have several 383 engines to choose from for a build. I just thought it would be cool to reunite it with a #s matching car. Although I do like that it’s a HP engine.

My friend answered a Craigslist ad for a 70 383 HP engine,and it turned out to be the matching numbers engine for his 70 Charger. He could hardly contain himself as he paid the guy $600 for it!

Not mine, haven't taken out any engines from any 70's
tons of 68-69's especially RRs,
other wise mostly R/T's & 440's out of Chargers
lots of mid 70's Truck/Power Wagon engines

Glad I had kept my Org. 383, sealed in a bag
I'd have been screwed
if I didn't have, to put back in my car
(the org. 0.040" over 383 short-block, with all my good top end stuff)...
after selling a 4.15" stroker "Twice Now" out of it...

Based on the VIN sequence yes this came out of a 70 Charger, however unknown if it bas a XH29 Base model or XP29 500 model. That VIN is not yet in the 70 Charger Registry database so I have added it and noted the block's current owner should the car ever pop up in the future.
