Fred is dead!

:drinks:
Oh I thought I was missing some cool Mopar slang reference that maybe I could use in my car club’s trivia game.

Peace
It's not Mopar-specific, no.
A quick GIS came up with "nonfunctioning visual ornamentation, such as chrome" , which is pretty close.

I have been totally remiss with one thing on this whole "Fred is dead" thing...
Namely, the incredible amounts of time and help offered from my Hanover PA friend JOHN (KK)!
John spent hours on the phone with me, offering advice when asked and being my sounding board
when I was working through all the "logic" of the Mopar wiring diagrams, applying them to the car
(which of course, ain't 100% stock...).
Thank you, John!

Hey its always a grin talking with you on the phone. And if we can help each other out that's just an added bonus.

Time to take a little break while you mend. Sometimes things come about to make sure you take some time for yourself.

I had something simular happen to me with my first B-body. I drove it up to the local track to see what it could do. Once there. Total loss of electrical. To all 3 circuits. Tried multiple batt, tested leads to and from starter. After some under dash testing it would start, but lights flickering with an obvious misfire to the ignition circuit. Then starter/primary power circuit would die again. Auxiliary circuit dead all the time. I had some pretty smart people from the track test as well. None of us can figure it out. I was under the dash when I hit the key and saw the slightest wisk of smoke from the back of my aftermarket Sun Tach. I rolled my eyes "Damn it dummy! This is likely the only competent wired to all 3 circuits. So I thought. "If the battery power is grounding there? It should be hot!" And yep! It was. I disconnected and it drove home like a champ. Never knowing what the pure stock 440 could do for a time.

Moral? You might want to check any connections to aftermarket devices. Stereo? Or in my case, a big old Sun tachometer.
