The other day I pulled the front driver's side window regulator to see why it was not working. About half teeth on the arm that lifts the window are wiped out, so not much i can do to save it. I did some digging and found other posts on here explaining WHY all of the new replacement regulators say "EXCEPT 1966 CHARGER" in the listings. If I understand correctly, it is the length of the shaft that the window crank attaches to due to the Charger having a thicker door panel. Hoping that information was correct, I decided to purchase a new Coronet one, and we are going to see if I can drill the rivets out of the OEM one and harvest the longer shaft, then install it into the aftermarket one. Parts arrive next week, so I will keep everyone posted on how it goes. If anyone has done this before, or knows of any other differences I should be watching out for, please let me know!

You are correct... the shaft on a 1st Gen is roughly 9/16" longer
Thank you for confirming! I am hoping that if this method works, it will provide a solution for future 1st Gen Charger owners in a similar bind.

Would a frozen 67 regulator work on a 66? Maybe you can use the gears that are missing?

I honestly don't know. All the listings seem to specifically say 1966, but not 1967. Does the 67 have a different door panel than the 66?

They are the same.

Probably because there were a lot more 66s manufactured.

Just to make matters worse... the shaft length of the front and rear regulators are different from each other as well.
