Get one of those "invisible fence" kits for dogs. Put the cable around the car and the collars on your kids !!

Your failure as a Father is also your failure as a Parent to teach your kids right from wrong. You can never start to early to teach & discipline, how'd your life get so busy that you forgot this? You have no one to blame but you and your wife for letting kids paint in the garage! Good Luck

"But Dad paints in the garage"! I'm sure next time they'll be supervised, I'd still be walking around as I'd be unable to sit down..

#2 son was using the riding lawn mower to cut the grass in the back yard. I'd just recently unloaded and parked a really clean 66 Belvedere 1 2 dr sedan out there. The next day I noticed red paint and damage to the driver's rear quarter panel. Lawn mower was red. Confronted him about it: "It's just an old car'. I managed to remain composed.

The same year I drove into the driveway after an exhausting week long business trip and there's a hole right through one of the roll up garage doors, roughly in the outline of a 3 wheeler. Talk to the boys. #1 owns up to it but insists the garage jumped in front of him.

Their now both in their early 40's. I remind them of the experiences when they start expressing frustration about their own kids and the stupid stuff they do.

          Ok, here’s my story....

my daughter Nella uses a powered wheelchair, and she also owns a 67 Barracuda convertible. I had been teaching her and her brother, who was 12 at the time, how to drive the car. They were both doing well so I decided that it was time for burnout lessons. Nella didn’t want to try, but my son did. He did a burnout and was very proud of it, so we took pics and video and we all laughed about it. So, we took Nellas van to horseback riding later that day, and she gets strapped in with ratchet straps while in her chair, and the van has an expensive rubber floor in her area. We stopped for a pizza, and when I came out, the kids were laughing and giggling about something. My son said...”Nella did a burnout”, and I looked down and sure enough, the rubber floor was burned through from her tires and the inside of the van smelled like rubber. My son poured the water under her tires, and Nella did the rest. I couldn’t be mad, as reminded by the wife several times, and we laugh about it bow, but that floor was over $1k to install. Learned my lesson, but I look back and wouldn’t change a thing.

Here’s a pic of Ian’s burnout from that day.

I feel your frustration... But like the Government I'm here to help!! Are Ya Scared?? Ya should be.... LOL..

Grab a Clay Bar & Spray Wax..... Most times the fine grade clay bar will take off overspray.... If it doesn't the more aggressive clay bar will....

However the aggressive bar will dull the paint.... Buffing will bring the shine back but if you don't have to use the aggressive clay don't...

I use & prefer Auto Magic Clay bars & since they were the originators & their products still work at least as well as any other brand I've tried I continue to use them....

                    Fine grade bar...

LOL, da Bee sat in a 2-car garage for 20yrs while I worked 2jobs. When I looked at passenger door there was a line of vertical dings going 12"horizontally or so. NOBODY owned up to it, all I know is it wasn't me.Bicycle handlebars (?) or a female moving ever so slightly fore&aft and kids piling out? Still love 'em all.

A buddy of mine was out in the driveway washing his car with a bucket and sponge. His five year old wanted to help dad. He picked up a piece of roof shingle, that to him looked like the sponge and dived in. That one didn't buff out. It wasn't his Mopar though, but it was a Volvo 242 GT Turbo.

I will tell you the same thing i tell everyone. YOU are the parent and YOU are in charge of making sure your kids are not working unsupervised. My 3.5yo son knows to not even enter my shop without an adult. It's all about setting boundaries and expectations. Hopefully you can clean up the scoops. Its a good thing they are cleared over!

Accidents happen, teach them what's right and explain what could have prevented "angry dad" lol. Trust me I understand!

Not really, would you take advice on building your classic motor from an Amish? You are right though, it's none of my business however your reply was pretty harsh considering most of us know full well the surprises parenting can bring. Disciplining typically follows screw ups, you can't anticipate everything your child will ever do.

thank you 747Mopar for your post. I started to write a response to what he said and I just stopped. There was no need. My initial thought was, wow I’m a failure at being a father and a parent. LOL. I reminded myself, like I’ve heard many times, to not get caught up in what people say on social media or on this site. He doesn’t know me. I don’t know him. All we know of each other is what is written in these few words. Maybe he was having a bad day. Maybe he chooses to raise kids differently. Maybe he doesn’t have any kids. There are so many variables. I do appreciate your response.

                                  Tad the Dad!! Lol
