Hi guys . Filled tank w gas noticed gas smell in cab of car . This morning open truck and raw gas was in trunk . Now the filler neck is below trunk pan. Um only thing going thru is the small 1/4 inch bleeder/ air vent tube atmospherical vented do u recommend capping this? Thanks. 2nd time this has happened.

No, i do not recommend capping the vent. The other end in the tank must be hanging low enough to be submerged by gas. I would say maybe do fill it up until you get a chance to remove the tank to see whats going on

There should be 2 vent tubes in it, the one that runs up in the trunk and a smaller one that mounts on the under side on the frame. sounds like some thing is stopped up and after shaking it up it pressures it out the vent. Goog Luck hope you find it

Agreed. Check that vent in the trunk. Hard to find this stuff with the fast evaporation. See if there is any evidence or gooey contaminants at the opening. Was the car parked on a level surface?

Thanks I'll check that, I rechecked the filler tube and saw it had gas outside of it so I popped the trunk and slowly drove it down my street while my son was walking along side it and he said when it stopped gas would come threw 2 small pinholes, and again when I accelerated it would come threw. The O ring is dry rotted so I need to replace that, what would you guys recommend as a good replacement company?
