Gass Monkey

that bald headed guy that was standing around laughing after he drove the Olds into the door should be gone.

Well they did not lose money on the deal but he traded the truck for work on the shop. I will admit the truck looked good when done, but just not the way I would have done it. In the long run I must say everyone (on the show) was happy with it when done.
Oh well enough said now back to your regular programs...

yeah it only cost him something like $10k for $50k worth of billed construction remodel work, after they flipped for the truck vs. the work, if Richard had won he would have just swapped the truck, with no-cash out of pocket, for the remodel of the building, so he basically got something like $40k for the truck.... I would guess there's an a$$ for every seat, isn't there ?? or A$$ Monkey in this case...he he ha ha....

it looked OK, IMHFO it just should have had a Hemi in it, instead... I'm beating that damn dead horse again...LOL...

I don't mind watching gas monkey, I understand they're in it to do quick cheap flips, and it is on tv so I expect the mandatory reading-from-notecards/teleprompter scenes. Agreed if it was my truck it wouldn't have a Chevy 350 in it

But for what it's worth, this is my favorite car show and it's not even on tv. What's that tell ya? lol

I watched all the RoadKill episodes on the computer, pretty good stuff.
I liked the front suspension swap on the Dodge truck, but I would have liked to see a newer gen III Hemi under the hood.
I had a '68 Dodge truck 2-wheel drive Camper special with a 383, auto, and Dana 60 axle (8-lug 16" split rims.) It had "power assisted" steering that didn't work and I was looking at changing out the suspension, but ended up selling the truck to a friend and his wife ended up with the truck when they got divorced.

I love watching Roadkill. That show is great. I do have to say that the worst thing I have viewed was in Hot Rod magazine. Back in the late 80's to mid 90's. Someone took a Challenger and dropped in a Toronado front suspension and a 350 Chevy motor. So not only did a Dodge Challenger have a Chevy motor in it, it was also front wheel drive. Ahhhggghhh!

Yeah, but what was that guy and his partner selling? They pull garbage out of dumps or buy scrap junk and make it into furniture. Not much overhead in that line of work. He was basically charging the garage $50,000 for $200 worth of junk and some man hours for tearing the drop ceiling down. I think the truck owner probably got the better part of the deal.

What the fu...? :icon_scratch:

I actually really like Fast n Loud. Its got cool cars and is entertaining. Better than all the other crap on TV.

RoadKill is a great show also. Anyone watch the Drive channel on youtube? I'm hooked on Big Muscle and Drive Clean. Big Muscle has some great cars and even has quite a few Mopars.

Yeah I really like big muscle and some of the other Drive shows. Would love to get my Chevelle and Charger on big muscle when they're done

Richard Rawlings has had an interesting career so far.

He may act like an azz monkey on the show but I gotta give him credit.

Sue is awesome. I like the little blonde who works in the office too. Aaron seems like a real good mechanic but apparently he thinks every car looks better lowered. Well, except that metal-flake green gasser they made. No wonder they lost their azz monkey on that one.

I watch just about all the shows mentioned so far but I have a special appreciation of Ed China on Wheeler Dealers. He actually straightens those cars out pretty nicely on the cheap before they flip them. I've probably learned more useful tricks for him than anyone else.

X2 on the Ed China. He is a good man with the "spanners and windy gun"

Thomas

:iamwithstupid: yeah but he doesn't even hardly ever "clean or let alone paint any mechanical part he installs" on most all of them POS's either, just a pet peeve of mine... I do like the show, pretty good formula, lots of showing the repairs & I do watch every once in a while, but I'm not a big fan of the really dry Brits Cheeky Humor, at all thou... they are truly some weird dorky dudes, the kind guys you would have messed with in school {well me maybe anyway} & low life car flippers, I'm no big fan of flippers either... if you couldn't tell.... But Ed does allot of work {albeit not very tidy/clean}, while Mike shops... Opinions will vary vastly I'm sure, but that's mine...

+1 on WheelerDealers, I like that show. Good variety of all different cars, especially Euro stuff you normally don't see on the American shows. Plus seems more serious and the mechanic parts are more technical. Love Ed, he's cool.

+1 on not liking that Gas Monkey almost uses the same formula on every flip they do. Get motor running if possible (or put cheap new one in), clean it up, new wheels/tires, lower it, then bam, DONE! But I guess that's his business, not a real "restoration" shop. It's a fun show though. I hope they don't butcher any nice Mopars improperly, I mean besides the Chevy motor in the Dodge P.U. Too late on that one.

what about car warriors

yeah that didn't last but 2 seasons I think it was... I watched probably most all of them too, much better after they got rid of George Barris & the guy from Pimp My ride... Jimmy Shine is OK, he had a show too, I don't remember the Name, a couple years back, where he was training 3-4 people to be his appr. @ SoCal Speed shop, built some cool cars, the little short dude "Lawn Nome" won...

I don't mind Gas Monkey or Richard at all, but I just hope they don't get their hands on any more Mopars any time soon. That Sweptline could have been really awesome with a 5.7 HEMI in it. Their builds do get a little redundant though as mentioned. I prefer Fantom Works and even Counting Cars over it.
