I dropped Hagerty on March 27th of this year. Another member from Texas suggested I try his company, collectors classics. That was the best move I ever made. My total annual cost dropped by a third. In addition, the Independent agent works and live right here in town. Plus, they allow my mileage use to be spread from one car to another. So If one gets driven more than another, the credit moves around. All agreed value, and they allow Quarterly payments, not just an annual Payment. I was with Hagerty five years, and two years ago I needed to have my Dart towed, as I heard a noise under the car, and only 50 miles on a fresh rebuild. It was a warm day at 3:00 in the afternoon. Two hours later still no truck. My son finally was able to come and babysit the car while my son-in-law gave me a ride home to get my truck and trailer.
When I got back a tow truck was sitting there, and I told him to get the HELL away from my Dart. I said I was assured of flatbed service, not a damn tow truck. I asked him what took so long, and he said nobody hauls for Hagerty because their allowance is too low. So hagerty searches for the cheapest they could find. I took the car home myself.
Then, last March 27th I was Irritated enough to shop around to consider my options. I got busy at work, and after two months I decided to renew, minus the towing. They would not pro rate the Policy. So, I said: you mean if I had a claim you would not have covered the car, but you are still charging me? She said yes, if you want our Insurance you have to pay the whole year using the same renewal date, (Mar27th) but restarted May 27th which was actually 10 months. I then decided I would not wait again, and shopped around the members here, and when I found the referred company had a local agent, I decided to change.and I am waiting for Hagerty to try and call me again so I can tell them to pound sand. The best part was the new company added to collector Motorcycles for 50 bucks a year! Full coverage, no deductibles, agreed value. All is good!
I agree with Bruzilla.
