Graveyard Cars

Just watched a couple episodes of that Brit show Wheeler Dealers, and the folks at Graveyard Carz should model their show on that one. You can't get a better car show than that.

ugg gotta disagree with that one. they polished a turd of a 70 charger on one of them. thought it was pretty lame

google Ed China , he is a strange and funny dude , he has a bunch of guiness world records LOL

and make Mike stick to his guns on the price and
not let him drop the price .

RE: Diecastdeluxe-

If we're not the target audience for GYC, then I don't know who is.

The consensus seems to be- people want more car and restoration content, and less BS.

This is constructive criticism manna from heaven and direct from the target audience.

Give the people what they want, or take a chance and second guess.....

One thing is for sure, if the content were lees BS and more cars, this thread would be 90% positive instead of what it is now.

Totally agree with YY1. Like the show overall but the proportion to actual "doing" vs. BS is out of whack. Also think they could benefit by doing some less known, but equally cool mopars...like one of the rare '70 V code Fury ( I know a C body on a B body forum) but that would cool and tough to scrounge/ source parts for.

I dont know if he turns anything down or not, i would hope not, but he can only restore what people bring him to restore. Im sure he isnt cheap, and regardless of the personal interactions between them, the work they do is of the highest quality. The 70 chicken, the 71 charger, both looked great. the black cuda is sweet. The fc7 challenger is too. Everything they do manages to get done and look great. To me that means the drama is contrived. I do think however, Marks reaction to whats his face leaving was real. Not that the other stuff isn't real, i feel its just exaggerated. I still watch to see the progress of the cars. Thats whats its all about after all. I mean seriously, i watched the dukes of hazzard for the general lee. Not all unbelievable situations they got in and out of. Same deal here.

I watched DH for Daisy..LOL and I was a kid at the time so yes the trouble they got in and out of as well...hahahahaha Loved the car of course

Chics in tight jeans still do it for me :)

I noticed on the last two shows GYC had a couple more employees on camera momentarily. I think his crew is much bigger and the 4 chuckleheads are the TV show front men. I'm thinking the REAL help stays out of camera shot.

Big difference; all those guys are is a couple of flippers. Fix what's wrong & get it out the door with a profit. The Charger definately was a turd as are just about all of the cars they feature. But it is an interesting show to watch.

that woman on the show,GYC......Sonny finds her kinda' semi-hot...kinda'!:eusa_eh:

getting to know the rest of the jokers cast ...I don't know I still watch it. maybe it's the weather.

I think the main business there is the collision repair shop (Welby's?), which you only get a peek at, that's who get's stuck doing the majority of the metal work (which they never seem to show). Then the four come in on nights and weekends to do what they do - disassemble, organize, blast, order parts, maybe paint something, finally assembly. Welby's Collision is Mark's business (married into maybe that's why the different name?). I'm guessing the other guys are either retired or have another regular day job. Holly? Haven't figured her out yet.

Dvr-ed it fast fwrd thru, nonsense, I like Holly too, she seem like a decent lady, attractive for her age too... Her, Josh & Royal especially, are tolerable, can't hardly take Daren or Mark, stupid stuff, even for long time childhood friends, it's pretty bad... It was good to see Tony from Tony's Parts on the show, great guy & I wish he would have shared more of his MoPar knowledge, instead of Markism's & lame chest pounding...

Way to many words .. what's the gist of the story and what point are they or you making?

lmao, hey at least I don't post novels with big *** bold words like Bud does lol

In that article he talks about Worman and how he got started, and how he is a jr high drop out etc. Also how he got his ged at 16 at the local JC and had worked at the local wonder bread plant, which is now the building he is currently in, a story of how he worked there sweeping the floors thinking what a great hot rod shop this place would make. then in 1985 he opened welby auto body in the same spot etc..

The author also goes on about the banter and how lame it is in not so many words, but also how Mark watched other shows to get ideas, one important one to him was American Choppers, go figure nothing but drama on that show lol.

Anyway he kind of paints Mark as the guy who is the center which we all know already, this was written as season two was just getting underway.

Oh and no point, it just struck me to look up more inside info for my own knowledge.

Good read. I won't repeat myself on my likes for this show. Most here on FBBO know how I do feel about it. For the most part, after reading this article, I now find it to be a more palatable show and can relate to what really Mark is attempting to create here. Take away the BS and you have just a mediocre TV show. But throw it into the mix and you now have what most of us here are cringing at. Yes it does make us uncomfortable. I bet 90% of us act in somewhat the same fashion when we are around our own spheres of friends and acquaintances. My Brother and I is what comes to mind here. We are the same way. So it makes perfect sense to add that kind of "shtick" to the mix. I guess I get it now. Mark being compared to Moe Howard is spot on. Just without the slaps and the hits that made that show such a success. But I could see it coming. That and I do so like the work they do...My 2 Cents
