Absolutely, if not the gear oil will wash out the grease of the sealed green bearing.

You actually don’t need them. The green bearing is completely sealed.
I have read once from a user where the inner seal interfered with the fit of the axle when using a green bearing but can’t verify the authenticity of the complaint. (Can’t remember his exact application either)
If the seals don’t interfere with anything it won’t hurt to leave them in.

Not picking on you but that’s a funny statement. Though I am not a fan of using green bearings, if they are sealed, how does the gear oil get inside to wash out the bearings?
Not needed, the green bearing is sealed, and also has an O-ring around it that seals it to the axle housing. There is no need to remove the old axle seals, I leave them in.

The one hundred percent preference would be to leave the seals in. You would only risk not running them if you were stuck on an island and had zero choice because there aren't any.
The lock collar would interfere with the seal , not the bearing. ..and it doesn't.

I just did an 8.75 with green bearings for the first time. I installed the seals and confirmed no interference. Collar is not in contact as @RemCharger mentioned. Also doesn’t ‘sealed bearing’ just means it’s not serviced externally with grease? I don’t think a sealed bearing is intended to be a seal itself? I can see where it would possibly work that way, installing the seals for a couple $$ might be good insurance.

It has an o-ring, my guess is it's intended to seal the gear oil in, and anything out.

It's intended to be a last resort if the installer completely failed to put an inner seal in.
It's moments like these that I miss Bob.
