Happy New Year!! And who is recovering from yesterday/last night! What's wrong with me!?

A buddy of mine lit one off as well, his was a 55 gallon bag... Really smart guy, not his smartest moment... The percussion shattered windows half a block away... He's used a really long fuse to give him extra time to get safely out of the area... Unfortunately after he found cover a 60+ YO man stepped out of a doorway within 50 feet of the blast.... Luckily he stepped back inside before the explosion...
Wife's Uncle introduced that to me. First with a story about filling one and using an extension cord with the plug cut off one end to set it off.
"I did a 50 gallon bag 2 years ago. I recommend longer than a 20' extension cord." Then he started to snicker and took a big pull on his cigarette.
So then I went over and we did another one with a 100' extension cord.
Loud may not be adequate as a descriptor lol.

We went out for dinner, had a few drinks, came home, had a few more, and watched "Hell on Wheels" til 11:40pm. Turned on the Local Buffalo Fireworks Celebration, Quite an Event ! Switched channels to Escape the "Woke" NY Times Square BS, and found Lynyrd Skynyrd Live from Nashville, for Their CST New Years Eve Party ! BEST New Years Eve Party We've seen since ??? and ben a LONG Time since I've been up past 1am !!!
Went to a Skynyrd Concert on New Years Eve back around 87.... Great way to bring in the New Year...

For anyone wanting to try it.... If you want max boom... light your torch, adjust the flame then get the tip to close to steel/concrete so the flame pops out... Don't touch te mixture adjustment, start filling the bag, Oxy/Acetylene mix is heavier than air so you fill while keeping the bag edges high.... As the bag expands.....Danger!!! You can figure out how to light it without getting anyone hurt....

Local casino puts on quite an event. Live music, free food and champagne handed out, magician walks around on the floor doing small group "street magic" tricks(he was GOOD) bunch of give aways. Put $20 in a machine, basically get $100 in match play(like free money but you have to start with some of your own) between their promo's and silly things like "dress up for new year get free $20" etc.
Wife and I went there for like 7 hours and spent $40, mostly on bar tab in the end. They had a mediocre cover band from about dinner to 9, and then a really decent one came in for 9-1am.
Packer game was on every TV in the place too, made my brother in law happy.

We don't go much, only a fool thinks you walk in there without losing whatever you brought, but they really put on a big deal for New Year's and the place is always packed and hopping, they seem to get it's a party and not a regular "casino" group that night. I think it helps they fill the hotel to capacity too, they seem more agreeable to loosening things up then. Deffinately a lot of happy faces and a party atmosphere for the evening.

I was good and did not touch the moon shine I had stashed in frig. Just old enough now that my wife and I watched the tube and let it roll on by. Happy new years to all here. Blue 69.

Food coma. Went to my favorite Italian restaurant. It’s our new year’s tradition. Eating the leftovers as I speak. Should have stopped in at Mikes for a little bourbon

I'm into a Rittenhouse pick form Ace Spirits in Minnesota. Cheers!

There's plenty wrong with all of us... But the fact most of us didn't get drunk last night isn't a sign of something wrong...

As far as making some noise? Acetylene Bomb.... Say no more...
I used to make acetylene bombs out of empty beer balls. Now that created one helluva blast !

Now you've added shrapnel... I prefer keeping it in plastic bags or plastic antifreeze jugs... Metal makes it even scarier...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I haven't recovered from last YEAR...
At least I got back on line here:thumbsup:
It is nice to be back, now to renew the gold membership & browse around a bit in between fiascos:realcrazy:

Tickled to death to "see" you again, my friend!

Actually, we were up past midnight because, well...
I am part of the "holler tabernacle", after all. :)
This years' choice was a prudent Mossy 12ga and some regular ol' birdshot shells.

The sounds of various calibers rang up and down the holler - including a couple Barretts -
followed by a chorus of rebel yells and whoops and such.:confederateflag:
Makes me happy every year, especially since I gave up the hooch (seriously - medical reasons)
many years ago.
Sounded like freedom. Does my heart good.:usflag:
