Has anyone gotten a $1,200.00 check yet?

-- I understand that, but They must be, at least, first cousins. -- :D --

I filed my taxes in February, working PT last year, and three days later I received a letter from SSDI that they were doing a review. Coincidence? My rep said no but he might be trained to say that.

Not getting one. Sounds like it’s free money! Have no problem with people that worked, are unemployed, disabled etc. feeling as though welfare rats are getting even more free money.

That's the idea. We are now more dependent on the government than ever. Why, we can't even go outside of our homes without our overlord's permission...

Friend of mine and his ex wife got theirs yesterday. Unfortunately it went into her account. So drama ensues....

Lol, getting our tax money back and will have to claim as income for 2020. What a deal!!

No you won't. This is an advance for a tax credit you will get next tax season. No tax will be applied to this payment.

Most of my wages as an independent contractor come from a 1099. So far in Massachusetts, there isn’t a plan in place for “us” little guys.:BangHead:

I think my dad will get his "soon"

I highly doubt I will get one....

haven't made any real income in almost 3 years now
(taking care of my dad, instead)
except some automatically reinvested dividends,
(I've been living off my saving)
I can't draw my retirement 'yet' without sever penalty,
I'm still too young !!!
I'm too young for SS & been self employed for near 40 years
I do pay a bunch in property taxes
& some minor income taxes on investments & It doesn't amount to much
of late either

1099 filing candidates are really low % #'s & if'y at best

IF I do actually get one,
or a couple over the next few months, like they say
I'm going to put it in an account & buy stocks, bonds, investments
or open an IRA with it/them, make that "free" taxpayer funded CASH
actually work for me, try & double it maybe...

Like I said, I highly doubt I will even get any...

IMVHFO, it's a freaken' disaster for our economy, adding to the debt
yet everyone's excited about get all that cash :poke:
& It ain't free
IF I do, it'll just get a few of the tax $$'s I already paid in, back...

I'd much rather see it go to the actual people in real need,
not the people already on SS, Unemployment, welfare, food stamps etc.
govt. PERS or that have a retirement account
we're already all carrying all of them, on the dole
off the backs of "the actual taxpayers" already now
or people that still are working & making an income !!

I could actually see it going to people unemployed,
people sent home, that can't work earn an income
or to help real small businesses, that will be or are in trouble,
not those people that just want to use it
because it's there & for the taking

or maybe spend it on border security, ICE, LEO's, Fire dept. EMT's
or god forbid to be cleaning up the homeless mess BS
especially in all the inner-shitty's their Leaders have failed them !!!
or maybe even for infrastructure repairs etc., INSTEAD

All because of this CHINESE SPAWN ****,
adding 2+ trillion to the deficit or $$ going to some of the people
that should 'NOT' really get any...

IMO China needs to pay for this crap...
Somehow someway !!!

:soapbox:

Yea I'm pretty sure that's nation wide, I'm in the same boat. With what I'm hearing there is a disagreement between SBA lenders and the government. Something about profitability.

Some weeks ago I heard that they were borrowing this money from China. It was some news show or something, I was doing something else and just barely caught what they were saying.

All I remember is they were complaining about how China was the cause of this pandemic and here we are borrowing money from them to pay for the stimulus packages. I thought to myself, well if this is true, guess who isn't getting their money back! (I never followed up with researching this as being factual)

In a perfect world, we SHOULD stick it to em. But alas... :(

If Your SS money gets directly transferred to Your bank, then why can't The Govt. use that info to deposit the stimulus money ?

They way I understood it was that SSI direct deposit was the route the check will take if you have not had a direct deposit tax payment or refund.
If your not collecting SSI and have not had any direct deposit or wired refund then it comes as a paper ck. snail mail.

Based on what I had to withdraw from 'our' IRA during the divorce, I probably won't get a dime but imo, it's well worth it because she's freakin gone!!

Bud, I'm on SS so are you saying I'm on the dole? I paid in for a lot of freakin years.....

I ran the numbers and found that I will not get a check. (I could be wrong)
What I did is plan for retirement by saving and investing. -My investment income (in spite of the market fall) added to my pension check (that is at risk of confiscation) and my SS check pushed me out of the pool of those expected to see any money by a slim margin.

I am not complaining. -What I fear is that in the near future my -established income- will be tapped thereby putting me many steps back in my planning for my remaining years.

No one can deny that spending a trillion or so dollars overnight will go unnoticed in the big picture. My fear for my grandchildren increases.

If you're on SS and don't have direct deposit, April the 17th the IRS will have a online form so you can enter your bank info and they can direct deposit your stimulus money.
