Head gasket options

I will be reinstalling the head gaskets this weekend on my 318 Coronet. My local machine shop sells Safety Gasket brand (HG18-137). I can also pick up a set of Mr Gasket permatorque MLS (8553PT) from the local parts store. Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation as to which may be better. Thank you in advance

MLS needs good smooth surfaces to seal. If pretty rough do not use MLS.

Not sure if the Safety Gaskets are MLS as well, I will have to check. I did have the heads rebuilt and resurfaced by the machine shop. On the engine block I used razors to remove the old gasket and it cleaned up really well.

FelPro 8553PT are intended for a stock type rebuild.

You’re better off to use FelPro 1008.

The Safety Gasket is a graphite composite gasket
