The hose or stethoscope will not only find the cylinder, but you can pinpoint which area of the port is leaking. Very quick, very easy. No need to mess around. You can use it to listen to the valve cover as well. If spark were jumping there would be a miss under load. The offending area will be located in a minute or two.
