for the 69 super bee the tti headers cost 1100.00, Hookers black ceramic coated competition headers are 550 plus 60 for the reducers. I know the tti's would fit very well, has anyone installed the hookers on a 69 bee 440? hooker number 5903-3hkr

LOL !! Was also just about to suggest Dougs ... then I took a quick look at the price !!!

Like every else, things keep going up. A hundred or two you can get TTIs.

When I bought my Doug's there was a considerable difference in price compared to TTI.

I ran those on my 73 Charger for years. No issues. Just have to ask yourself do you want a painted header or a coated header?

Dougs are ceramic coated ... unless you're a cheap bastard and buy the plain ones !!

That part number is black ceramic coated. It’s at a deep discount. Holleys end of year sales.

This "hobby" is not for the faint of heart. Spend the cash on TTI's and you'll be much happier later. JMTC

I have a set of ceramic coated Patriot headers and they still look great after 10 years.

We run those headers in a 69 b body with a 440. I really liked the fit with straight plugs. When we changed to edebrock heads with angled plugs we had to make clearance on 3 tubes.
We also have dougs 2". They are a step up over the hookers, they cost more as well. I would buy the 5903's again though. But..not for heads w angled plugs, that required some customizing.

As long as they don’t hang to low. I wouldn’t have problem with Hookers. Not really a big deal to have to clearance them here or there, it doesn’t hurt performance any. Im not the spotless perfect engine compartment kind of guy. Be sure to let us know how the fit whatever you buy.

i ran the hooker super comp 1 7/8 to 2 1/2 on a 440 the driver side hung down some . i used eastwood spray on coating and worked great the mini start fit better than stock but had to remove to replace stock starter loosen to remove mini starter. the tti i got in 2000 they are 2 in to 3 1/2 ceramic coated they look new with some mothers polish . i payed 1000. in 2000 so 1100 now is a steel in my book

IF you plan to run aluminum heads, make sure the headers will work with angled plugs

In my case thew Doug's fit and worked perfectly
The first set of Hookers I had would not work with the angled plugs
