Hi Everyone,
Yes everyone another newbe here but not new to classic cars. I have been a car guy pretty much all my adult life and this is Mopar #2 for me. My first Mopar (And my first car) was back in 1978 a 1974 Dodge Monaco Police Package 440. Bonus points for anyone who can tell me the name of the movie that featured a 1974 Dodge Monaco. My car was on its last legs and died and I was too young and stupid to save it.
Fast forward to today. My new project is a 1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring 318CI barn find. We named her the "Banana" and later I found the official name of the paint was "Top Banana". How fitting huh? She runs and rides quite nicely. I have already replaced the fuel tank, fixed an overheating problem, done some electrical repairs and all the regular maintenance. Next weekend she will have an engine bay and undercarriage steam wash so I will have a nice clean slate to start my work. Today I have ordered new Magnum 500 wheels and tires, new carb and intake manifold to start.
My plan is to do a complete Resto-Mod and bring this girl back to her original glory with a few modern upgrades so she can tear up the streets and show these kids with their Honda's how its done properly.
Pictured are some iPhone pix while I have been working on her. Also I found the original build sheet under the back seat. What a find!
