Hi all.

Coronet 318

I replaced the steering box o-rings (from pump) yesterday, and centered it raising the front and even removing the wheels. Found the sweet spot and was happy with that.

I put the wheels back and went for a drive and this is happening:

-The steering is feeling heavier;
-Also it wil sit still if I hold it on center but it will go full turn LEFT or RIGHT.

Video:

What am I missing here? It was fine before I replaced the o-rings.

Thank you!

Watch this video around the 2 minute mark he talks about the auto turning.. The problem he says is in the valve body and how its adjusted.

Thing with the video is he's describing the normal issue of turning one direction to full lock... This one goes both ways... It's "Bi"..... Directional..... I think your gonna find the spool in the valve body is sticking.... Could be debris, could be a burr... What ever it is the valve doesn't return to center it binds... That leaves a fluid path open....

Thanks, that's a very good rebuild video.

But like I mentioned, mine seemed balanced. And the wheel is doing it both sides, not one side only, which is what usually happens.

Thank you, didn't think about that (and I didn't touch it).

Will it be the case of pulling it out and check/cleaning only? Hopefully?
