Her maiden voyage!!!!!

Love the pics. Empty fuel and zero oil pressure?

That was after I parked it and shut it down for the day! Not while driving! LOL Maybe I will try another while driving! hahahahahaha

Congrats...the first drive is the best!
Lets see some more pics.

Congrats on a job well done! There's just nothing quite like the feeling of that first drive!

Here are a couple more shots of her in front of the house today.

What size rear wheels did you wind up using

Nice! Design by John Herlitz. Iconic profile.

congrats. Looks good. Have fun with her this summer.

That is the plan. I drive her about 10 miles yesterday, had her up to 75, no problems. Did a couple of launches and she stood up and boogied down the road with no problem. Actually, this is the first time I have ever chirped the tires when shifting between first and second. There is a little whine in the differential, but I suspect that after 500 mile break in, it should quiet down. Only problem I had was a leaky thermostat housing gasket, but that's an easy fix.

Those molded simulated wood dashes are so great.

Very nice car! I noticed that you have the earlier 71-72 simulated wood dash in it. Did the car come with it like that from the factory?

Put a 180 Napa Superstat in there while it is off. I had to use a Mancini Billett housing to get a seal. Good luck.

71 to 74 use the same insert.

I'm using a Stant 195 in it right now.

Um........not really
The one you have in yours is correct for 71-72.
The one's for 73-74 were slightly different.
Beside the headlight and wiper switch there was a small indicator.
See below.....

Look beside the headlight and wiper switch.
I originally bought one with the indicators for my 71 but was told it was for the later 73-74 model. I sold it and found a radio delete one for my 71.
