Just a few from St James City.

How do you cope with that **** year after year
crazy, must be of some strong will or fat wallets :blah:
I know the hurricanes don't always hit the same place either
it must suck worrying about that stuff, year after year
is it going to be one of them years again
now the insurance co.s bail
even if it is a lil' place of glory, lil' slice/piece of heaven/serenity...

that other crap would drive me crazy, pending doom
may not be this year but, it's coming

It's bad enough here with the snows, fires & earthquakes (or our **** govt.)
couldn't imagine the hurricane category destructive wind
& seas rising, or tiddle surges & constant annual floods at a min
on top of all that crap

hope :praying: it's all better today
No, a week after Ian.

Well Bud, we have our place back in shape, good as new, on the market , to get the FK outta FL.!! Been here 10 years, first hurricane, don't want to be here for another ! No we don't have deep pockets, and had hurricane insurance, but no flood. So needless so say , the insurance co didn't cover a dime in repairs. And they doubled their rates.

Yeah, I understand for sure...
So sorry to hear that too...
Them freaken' extortionists/insurance co.s,
just like the laFamilia strongarming
& then don't pay claims :BangHead:

Experienced three hurricanes in the
gulf region of Texas. A new car I
bought didn't last long enough
to be enjoyed. Imagine totaling
a car with less than a hundred
miles on the clock.....
EV's will suffer far greater losses.
Salt and batteries don't mix.
Hurricane ravedged areas can
experience weeks of salt water
intrusion. Much less charging
capabilities due to wiped out
electrical distribution.
Then as mentioned, insurance
companies find any and all
reasons not to live up to
promises paid for.

i’m a fairly new board member and just found this thread. that was a great read ! sad to hear off all the destruction but great to hear of the people pulling together and the rebuilding effort. i’ve been asked why i live in ny, less the government it’s great here . ( so you know i’m as far away from ny city as a new yorker can be ) born here raised here probably die here . blizzards are one thing but hurricanes or tornadoes is a different kinda scared ….

i was in flo for the storm of the century, (1993 if i recall correctly) lucky enough to be staying with family, was a eye opener after we got back outside… we weren’t on the coast but still plenty of destruction…

The last one I had concern for our Clearwater house. My neighbor there (older Florida native) said you only ride out a hurricane one time.
