Holley Secondaries Aren't Opening

Just wanted to finalize this thread. I ended up going all the way down to white and my secondaries are now opening all the way as evidenced by the paper clip. I also added a couple degrees of timing at the same time before test driving so I'm not sure what did it but I can no longer floor the throttle through a turn. I think I scared the crap out of the lady sitting in the left hand turn lane on the opposite side of me :)

I know this is an ancient thread but I'm just going through this paperclip testing with my brand new QuickFuel 750. I have the adjustment all the way out and its not opening on full launches. It comes with a Purple spring installed and I think the screw just attenuates vacuum? I'm going to pull the carb and test the thing on the bench - maybe its bad out of the box? I should be able to blow air in the primary to get the secondary to open on the bench if the diaphram isn't torn I would think. If that works I guess I'm trying springs. Sort of regretting not just getting a regular holley with a quick change secondary ugh...

This little brass nipple in the primary points at the secondary diaphragm and I think I can blow air by it to test the secondary action on the bench?
