I have several sets of hood hinges for both A and B Bodies in my shop. Are there numbers stamped somewhere that tell what they were originally installed on?

I do know there are date codes. I have always struggled with how to read them.
I can start you off, since I have had an eye out for a couple good 73 hinges, with the difference between 71-72 and 73-74 B body hinges.
Here is a pic(s).
First is 73-74

Thanks OD. Another question I have is: How do they get damaged? Seems like someone is always looking for a set.

Ah, that is simple. If you look at the parts that are sort of riveted in, they are simply pressed and the ends spread. With a good amount of wear, especially the 70's ones, the get loose. The hood won't close at the firewall properly and if they get bad enough like on a friend of mines ... they will just let loose. If the hood is up just hope you are no where near.
I need a pair of 73 ones myself.
